Technological Rituals

This is a collection dedicated to the silent
testaments we choose to leave behind.
The earthly markers that illuminate
for the present those who defined the past.

A collection of images that concern faith and the
structures that humanity has constructed to act
as a symbol for this ethereal and often elusive element.

Artist's Statement

Photography is not merely the art of composition and color.
Nor is it the science of aligning light and time.
Photography is my Practice.
It is the nature of Zen on its feet and present in the world.
It allows me to notice the life in each moment -
The potential of ourselves and our universe manifested.

Ajna Photography is the part of this blog that is dedicated to photography. With little formal training, Rhiannon has found a natural skill and eye for photography. Like her other artistic pursuits, photography is a medium in which the artist might explore the world she perceives through her senses as well as the world her mind envisions.

Rhiannon pursues photography mostly as a past time and spiritual exercise but has been hired on occasion and also makes her prints available for sale to interested parties.

About The Author - Rhiannon

Rhiannon has a BA Theater Education and Design. She likes to think of herself as a "Jill of All Trades" and has worked as an theater director, model, dancer, business manager, manual laborer, retail clerk, amusement park attendant and photographer.

She currently lives in Marblehead, MA.

Currently, she is preparing to pursue a Master's in Mental Health Counseling. She hopes in the future to fuse her passions and work for the benefit of others. At the moment, she feels that this will take the form of alternative arts therapies.

Recently, Rhiannon was serving as a Peace Corps volunteer.
She was working with Community Health Promotion in the Ba Province on the West Coast of Viti Levu, Fiji.

Rhiannon is passionate about many things including her friends, art & design, good tea, dancing, philosophy, dark chocolate, spirituality, gourmet cooking, new endeavors, and living a fulfilling life.

She enjoys driving on back roads while singing loudly to herself, organizing everything, meditating & yoga, archery, reenactment, walking through the grass barefoot and hot showers (when she can get them).

She considers herself to be an artist without a single discipline. Known to pursue whatever medium appeals to her in the moment and that which best serves what she is trying to express.

She is also a self proclaimed geek and enjoys living history, roleplay, computers, gaming, tech gadgets, and web design.

Rhiannon is a spiritual seeker whose devotional tapestry weaves together Buddhism and Humanism. She belongs to the Unitarian Universalist church. Her faith is important to her and she trieds to incorporate her spiritual practices into every aspect of her life.
